At PRISM Star Training, all three directors continue to work in social care alongside their training roles. Together, we run residential care, domiciliary care and supported living services. We bring that experience into training designed to help your staff grow in confidence, develop their skills and put learning into practice.
OUR ORIGINS
Our story: built within care, shared with care
PRISM’s story began within our own care organisation, where we built the capacity to train and develop our teams.
We understood the responsibility of helping staff feel prepared for the people they support, the decisions they make and the situations they face. We wanted learning that connected with everyday care: supporting someone to make a choice, recognising when their needs have changed, or helping a colleague approach a difficult situation with greater understanding.
We also understood the financial reality behind that ambition.
As care providers, we know the gap between what we receive to deliver care and what it costs to do it well. Paying staff fairly, maintaining safe staffing and keeping services running all place demands on the same budget. What remains for development has to be spent carefully.
Even arranging training involves more than a course fee. There is staff time, rota planning and cover to consider. Every investment needs a clear purpose and practical value.
PRISM Star Training grew from that understanding. Having developed training capacity within our own organisation, we wanted to make that knowledge and experience available to other providers facing the same challenges.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND PRISM
Meet our team
The people and experience behind our story.
I am an Oliver McGowan Mandatory Training Tier 2 Lead Trainer and Tier 1 Facilitator, as well as a qualified Assessor and Internal Quality Assurer (IQA). Alongside my professional experience, I also bring lived experience of ADHD and Autism, which gives me a personal insight into the importance of communication, sensory needs, reasonable adjustments, and truly person-centred support. I am passionate about helping organisations move beyond “tick-box” training and instead develop compassionate, reflective cultures where neurodiversity is understood, respected, and valued.
Throughout my career, I have combined operational leadership experience with a strong commitment to workforce development, supporting teams to build confidence in areas such as safeguarding, PBS, least restrictive practice, communication, and supporting behaviours of concern. At PRISM Star Training, my vision is to create high-quality learning experiences that empower staff, strengthen organisations, and ultimately improve the lives of the people they support. I believe the best training comes from a combination of professional expertise, practical experience, and authentic understanding — helping teams connect theory to real-world care and support.
Brett has held senior management roles within local authority services, leading multidisciplinary teams, supporting complex service delivery, and working in partnership with health professionals, providers, commissioners, and safeguarding services to improve outcomes for individuals with complex needs.
As Managing Director of PRISM Star Training, Brett combines extensive operational leadership experience with specialist training expertise to deliver practical, engaging, and person-centred learning that supports organisations to build confident, compassionate, and skilled teams.
He is passionate about helping organisations move beyond “tick-box” training and developing positive workplace cultures where staff feel empowered, reflective, and equipped to deliver high-quality care and support.
As Operations Director for Prism Star Training, he provides strategic leadership that strengthens quality, compliance, and workforce development across the organisation.
He is passionate about developing people, improving care quality, and embedding values?led, person?centred practice across teams and services. Christopher specialises in translating complex regulatory requirements into practical, accessible learning that supports staff at all levels to build confidence and deliver safe, high?quality care.
With extensive expertise in CQC compliance, safeguarding, and service improvement, Christopher delivers training that is engaging, grounded in real?world operational experience, and focused on empowering leaders and frontline practitioners to achieve meaningful, sustainable change.
