PRISM STAR TRAINING
FAA Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace (RQF)
The FAA Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace is a regulated qualification designed to provide learners with a practical introduction to workplace health and safety. Ideal for induction training, refresher learning, or employees returning to work, this course develops essential awareness around workplace hazards, risk control, accident prevention, and employee responsibilities under UK health and safety legislation. Suitable for all industries and workplace environments, this qualification helps organisations create safer working conditions, improve compliance, and promote a positive health and safety culture across their workforce.
Health and safety is a fundamental part of every workplace, regardless of industry or sector. Employers have a legal responsibility to provide safe working environments, while employees also play a vital role in maintaining safe and healthy workplaces through safe working practices, reporting concerns, and following organisational procedures. The FAA Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace provides learners with the foundational knowledge and understanding required to contribute towards safer workplace environments and support organisational compliance with UK health and safety legislation.
This regulated qualification is designed as an introduction to workplace health and safety and is particularly suitable for new employees, induction programmes, refresher training, or individuals returning to work after an extended absence. The course explores workplace responsibilities, risk assessments, hazard control measures, accident prevention, and the communication of health and safety information within working environments.
Rather than focusing solely on legislation and theory, this practical qualification helps learners understand how health and safety principles apply within real workplace environments. Staff will gain confidence in recognising hazards, understanding risk control measures, following workplace procedures, and contributing towards safer organisational practices.
By completing this qualification, organisations can strengthen workplace safety culture, improve awareness and compliance, reduce workplace risks, and support the wellbeing of employees across all levels of the workforce.
