PRISM STAR TRAINING

Depression Awareness

Depression can affect motivation, relationships and everyday routines in ways that are not always obvious. Build understanding that helps staff notice difficulties, listen sensitively and respond with compassion, while recognising the importance of individual preferences and appropriate support.

Depression can affect motivation, relationships and everyday routines in ways that are not always obvious. Build understanding that helps staff notice difficulties, listen sensitively and respond with compassion, while recognising the importance of individual preferences and appropriate support.

Explore how assumptions and well-intentioned comments can affect a conversation, and consider ways to offer consistent support without judgement. Care-based examples help teams reflect on changes in presentation, clear communication and knowing when concerns should be shared or further help sought.

CARE PROVIDERS, FOR CARE PROVIDERS

Learning connected to everyday practice

Our work in care services reminds us how much thoughtful listening, early recognition of changes and an appropriate response can matter. We bring that perspective to learning about mental health, with a focus on understanding people, supporting conversations and recognising when further help is needed.
