Dissociative experiences can be difficult to describe and may be misunderstood by others. Build awareness of dissociative disorders and explore how sensitive communication, reliable relationships and consistent support can help staff respond with greater understanding in everyday care.
Consider the importance of listening to the person's account without making assumptions about their experience. CARE PROVIDERS, FOR CARE PROVIDERS
Learning connected to everyday practice
Our work in care services reminds us how much thoughtful listening, early recognition of changes and an appropriate response can matter. We bring that perspective to learning about mental health, with a focus on understanding people, supporting conversations and recognising when further help is needed.
