PRISM STAR TRAINING

People with learning disabilities should be heard, involved and supported as individuals. Build understanding of different needs and strengths, helping staff communicate accessibly, recognise barriers and create opportunities for choice and participation in everyday life.
Explore how routines, information and environments can either support or restrict involvement. Care-based discussion encourages staff to ask about preferences, allow time and work alongside the person, using their own knowledge and experience to inform support rather than relying on assumptions about a diagnosis.
