Lone working can change how staff manage everyday risks and seek support. Explore personal safety planning, communication arrangements and responses to concerns, helping teams think ahead about the situations they may face when immediate assistance is not nearby.
Use realistic examples from care and community work to consider preparation, agreed check-ins and the information needed before a visit or task. Reflect on when circumstances change, how to follow local arrangements and why staff should feel able to raise concerns or seek guidance.

CARE PROVIDERS, FOR CARE PROVIDERS
Learning connected to everyday practice
Running care services means thinking about safety throughout the working day, for the people receiving support and the staff providing it. We bring that experience to learning that helps teams recognise risks, understand their responsibilities and relate the subject to everyday practice.
